Marsala. It sounds pretty tasty, and it also happens to be the name

Holiday Sparkle

Holiday Sparkle

Here is some inspiration for the coming holiday festivities.
This is the kind of outfit that would be
 perfect for New Year's Eve!
I love the contrast of black, white, and red.
Adding silver and gold accents with different
textures gives a really nice dimension to the outfit.
And bit of glitter is always fun to have as well
to make it nice and sparkly!

Happy Monday!

On a budget Home Decor

Old bottles and empty spaghetti jars $1-3

Hello loves!
Today I am very excited to share with you a little bit of my apartment.
When we moved in to our new place
almost two months ago, I was soo looking forward to
start decorating the place and make it our own.
For the past six years, at my old place, it was all about the modern/ contemporary style.
I really loved it, but I wanted something different and cozier this time around.
The idea of modern- meets -rustic came to my
mind so little by little, my husband and I started with our decorating journey
which included some DIY's and thrifting!

Ikea Dofta $5/Michaels scrapbook paper $.70/pine cones (free)
Bath and Body Works candle $10

Random bottles and spaghetti jars are a
great way to add some inexpensive decor,
and the fact that there is recycling involved it's a win win!
I added pine cones that I got from my neighborhood, and other trinkets from Ikea
which is very well know for it's affordable prices.

Mix print and textures to you give a layered look that adds to that lived- in and welcome feeling.
Ross has become one of my favorites stores for on the budget decor.
You can find variety and the store brings new items constantly.

Ikea Pello Chair $50

I love throws, but I do not have one yet, using a big scarf
is a great to way add a sophisticated whirl to your living room.

Ross Wooden Curtain rod $24

I fell in love with these window panels from West Elm
a few months back. After waiting for quite some time
they were finally on sale!
Patience is key. If you like something that is more
on the expensive side, check often, it will
eventually go on a lower price.

Target Geo Accent Pillow $17

Wal-Mart Chair Cushion $5

Go thrifting! This can be so much fun.
We absolutely love going on thrifting adventures.
Sometimes you can leave empty handed, but others,
 you can score beautiful pieces.
We got these wooden chairs for free at U-haul.
They have a green room
where people leave unwanted items in good condition.
We painted them, added a pretty cushion,
and voila!
Rustic Chair (free)

 Dollar Tree Cutlery and frames/
Michaels Chevron scrapbook paper and letters
$1-5

Oh Pinterest...how addicted I am to you! I can surely get lost there for hours.
I love that you can find pretty much anything you want. I wanted to add  a little
something to our dining room wall so when I saw this idea, I thought it looked pretty clever and very
 easy to do!
Doing projects yourself not only can be cheaper,
but it adds to having your touch in the room!

Jute rope $5

I love to have fresh flowers in my living room.
To me, is an instant pick me up
and definitely adds to that cozy look. I have to admit that having
fresh flowers all the time can be expensive,
so having faux ones is a great
alternative to alternate.

Thrifted Tea pot $4

Ross Shower Curtain $8 /Target Wall decals $13/Ikea plant $5.49
Wal-Mart Towels $3

Recycled Jars

For the bathroom, Wall decals can be a great
way to  dress a wall and very easy to use.
I wanted a clean look, so I also used clear containers and recycled jars
with jute rope as a decorative touch.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post
and remember...
be creative, be crafty, be thrifty!
Happy Friday

Holiday Gift guide

I love to give gifts that are practical
and people can use the most.
That's why I love Bath and Body works!
I went yesterday and did half of my Christmas shopping.

With their wide selection of scents you can make
someone's home smell really good
and look beautiful at the same time...
or even make that special someone smell really
good with their signature body and bath products!

Wallflowers
These little guys are a most have in my home. I love that the scents are subtle but still noticeable.
My all time favorite is Mahogany Teakwood. You can't go wrong with that one in my opinion.
Bath and Body works offers beautiful Plug- ins to make these a beautiful piece of decor around the house.

Men Deodorizing Body Spray
My husband loves them!
I think these body sprays are very practical. Just spray and go! Also, the staying power is pretty good.

Candles
This is my most purchased item! I love that with a new season there are new scents to try.
These candles last a really long time, and I burn them almost every day, for up to 2 hours.Un like other candles, these permeate the aroma around the apartment. My favorites are again Mahogany Teakwood, Sweater Weather, and Ski Lodge.
Candle tip: To avoid tunneling, make sure that the candle wax melts all the way to the corners
before blowing it out. 2 for $22

Soaps
For some people this could be a boring item but when you think about it, washing our hands is
something that we do all the time! and believe me,  these soaps  are far from boring! You can even
dress them up in beautiful soap sleeves! My favorite scents are Morrocan Fig and Honey and Topaz Waters.

Signature Collection
What I love about these is that you can find the scent you love in different products.
Perfumes, mist, shower gels, creams, You name it, there is a choice for everyone!

And there is so much more!
So if you were scratching your head
this morning thinking what to get...
Think no more and stop by Bath and Body Works!

PS: The are offering free gift wrapping
with cute name tags and ribbon
for everything you buy!

Mexican Dream

Mexico has been one f those cities that at some point I would love to visit.
I love the the beautiful beaches, temple ruins, delicious food, and even fashion!
There is a style of Mexican clothing
which features bright colors and intricate embroidered floral patterns that I love.
When I saw this peasant top from Oasap, it resembled those that can be found in Mexico.

We made a little stop at this park.
You could see a bed of leaves everywhere, it felt magical.
This is as close as I have ever been to see "Fall"
I so want to see it in full swing.
But for that,we would need to make a trip up north.
Hopefully next year!

Holiday Spirit

And the countdown begins.
My two favorite holidays are around the corner.
The first one, Thanksgiving. Even tough I give thanks everyday, every year
I look forward to gather around the table
with the family, and say out loud why we are thankful.

This year has been an extra special one for us.
A new life in central Florida, and being able to be part
of the staff of Calvary Chapel Lake Buena Vista,
I can't even express how blessed and grateful I am.
I've been leading worship every Sunday for the
past few weeks and serving the Lord and doing
what He wants me to do is my priority at the moment.

When I received this kimono from Gypsan, the first thing

I loved was the tribal print. However, it also
 reminded me of Christmas somehow.
Another holiday that is very endear to my heart.
The celebration of the King!

I am looking forward to start my holiday decorations at home, and well,
it seems like even in my closet,
I have the Christmas Spirit on!

These pictures were taken at Mount Dora. A city that still retains the flavors of a small town with many
historic buildings,it's large canopy trees, and is very well known for it's variety of antique stores and specialty shops.
It was such a charming place! We also ate the best macaroons ever at Le Petite Sweet.
If you happen to visit one day, you must give them a visit.
Their cream puffs also looked delicious!

As we were walking around the area.
We found this train track and well...  we shoot away.

My kimono collection seems to be growing
and I cant help it.
I just love how cozy they are!

Have a great Monday
